Cancellations & refunds

Plans change. Every listing on SuiteVenues carries a cancellation policy, and you always see it before you pay — no digging required.

How cancellation policies work

Each host writes their own policy from three ingredients:

• A deadline — a number of days before the event
• The share of the booking the host keeps if you cancel before the deadline
• The share they keep if you cancel after it

A typical policy might read: "Deadline 7 days before the event · keep 0% before / 100% after" — a full refund up to a week out, no refund inside the final week. Listings without a custom policy use the platform default, which works exactly that way.

Cancelling a booking

Open the booking from your dashboard and choose Cancel booking. If you haven't paid yet, the request simply closes and no money moves. If you've paid, your refund is calculated from the policy:

1. We check whether your cancellation lands before or after the policy's deadline.
2. That determines the share refunded — of your entire payment, add-ons included.
3. Your 5% customer service fee is refunded in the same proportion. If 100% of the booking comes back, so does 100% of your fee.

What SuiteVenues refunds — and what it can't

SuiteVenues always returns its own platform fee in full on any refunded amount — the platform never keeps money on a portion the host refunded.

Card processing fees are different: they're charged separately by our payment provider (Stripe) at the time of payment and are non-refundable. That's the payment provider's policy, not ours, and it's outside SuiteVenues' control.

Note: Refunds are issued back to your original payment method. Once processed, banks typically take 5–10 business days to show it.

If the host cancels

Hosts can cancel too — life happens on their side as well. If that happens, reach out via Messages, and if anything about the refund looks wrong, contact us and a real person will sort it out.
